Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction
Treatment capacity that holds through the wet season.
Wastewater plants cannot stop treating while they are rebuilt. Our field teams plan every tie-in against the owner’s hydraulic capacity, and we keep temporary treatment, bypass pumping and odor control in the base scope.
Scope of work
- Headworks, screening and grit removal
- Primary and secondary clarifiers
- Aeration basins and blower systems
- Membrane bioreactor and tertiary treatment
- Disinfection, outfalls and reuse systems
- Solids thickening, digestion and dewatering
Technical capabilities
- Deep excavation, shoring and dewatering
- Large-diameter process and influent piping
- Fine-bubble aeration and diffuser systems
- Anaerobic digesters and gas handling
- Odor control and covers
- Live-flow tie-ins and bypass pumping
Design the bypass before the dig
The defining constraint on a wastewater project is the flow. We model the temporary condition early, size the bypass pumping, and agree the allowable interruptions with the owner before mobilization. Emergency contingency plans are written for the failures that actually happen: pump loss, power interruption and wet-weather inflow.
Treatment performance through construction
Construction sequencing is developed around the permitted effluent limits. If a basin must come offline, we confirm that the remaining train can meet the permit before the first valve is closed. Monitoring is continuous, and the owner’s operators have direct access to the superintendent.
Heavy civil inside a process plant
Deep structures, caissons, large-diameter pipe and cast-in-place concrete are our core work. We combine them with the process knowledge to keep mechanical, electrical and controls installation aligned to the same milestone dates.
Solids and odor
Biosolids handling and odor control affect the plant’s neighbors as much as its effluent. We coordinate hauling, covering and ventilation with the owner’s public communication plan so the community experience is managed, not ignored.
